The Arizona Department of Public Safety is rolling out new CCW permit cards, starting July 25th 2024! They include 5 new security features to prevent counterfeiting. (I didn’t realize that was a even a problem).
You do not need to get a new permit, current permits are valid until the expiration date. (You can order a replacement permit if you wish to have the new one.)
Up until this point, all CCW permit cards were actusll printed in the AZ DPS CWP Unit office in Phoenix. Now, with the updated cards they will be printed by a third party vendor. I hope that moving the production of these cards won’t cause any delays to processing and receiving a CCW on AZ, but only time will tell.
